SUNFLOWER FOR UKRAINE
A letter to my customers,
This Mother’s Day I’d like to ask you add £1 to your order for the mothers of Ukraine.
You see I am fundraising to support the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and by adding £1 - or more if you can - we can raise much needed financial help.
What’s more your recipient will receive a gift card along with their message to let them know that a donation has been gifted as part of your gift.
You can add your donation to your order value and I’ll forward it on or – if you prefer or don’t want to buy anything - you can donate directly on the SUNFLOWER FOR UKRAINE JustGiving page here and they will send it straight onto ActionAid which saves them time and costs.
Whichever way you do I am oh so grateful for your support of the SUNFLOWER FOR UKRAINE appeal … I really appreciate it.
Elizabeth
Why has this been set up?
At Mother’s Day, Ukraine was at the forefront of my mind and I wanted to do something to help. 27th March this year, I am florist, one of over 5000 retail florists in the UK. we will make and deliver thousands of gifts for Mothers across the country, so we know just how important Mum’s are.
However, as a small diverse industry, it’s not always easy to come together to do something collectively. And to be honest, sometimes it’s a question of where do even I start if I want to help?
And that got me thinking … and got me started and why I am asking all florists to join me.
It’s easy to do, it works for every florist and it’s an amazing way to help another mother and her children affected by conflict in Ukraine.
We have been so successful coming together as an industry. but it is not just florists, other small businesses from all sorts of sectors have joined in too.
How can YOU take part?
There are two ways you can help, take part, and spread the word.
1: Use the resource pack I have set up with the help of FloristPro and SB Web & Graphic Design at https://sunflowerforukraine.co.uk/resources and add the donation option to your website. It is so simple to set up yourself or you can ask FloristPro to pop it on your site if you have are one of their clients.
You then simply total it up and send the donations to the dedicated SUNFLOWER FOR UKRAINE JustGiving page
2: You use every contact and channel you have – be it customer lists or social media - to promote the initiative using the marketing material I have set up … again linking to the JustGiving page which will send the money to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and be matched by Government funding.
Again, I have created a range of resource material which you can download just email me eliz@elizabethmckennaflowers.co.uk.
Either way I have created some suggested wording and there are graphics to suit every platform and ready for print posters and cards.
The only thing I ask - and I know we are all super busy - is that you update and pass on what you have gathered regularly to the JustGiving page. If you can, please do it every day, because the more we can see we have raised, the more momentum we get.
Hopefully this is all clear but any questions please email me at eliz@elizabethmckennaflowers.co.uk. Like most florists we’re a small team so it may not be an instant reply but I’ll get back to you as soon as possible,
In the meantime, thank you – the more involved the merrier and will mean we can come together as businesses and do something special at Mother’s Day for Ukrainian Mothers.
Thank you so very much.
